Day four hundred ninety four.
Addie was mistaken for a boy today. I guess that is what I get for dressing her in a grey shirt (a grey shirt that happens to have puffy sleeves). This is what she looks like when she is trying to hide her smile from the camera. And no, there is no chance that she is going to give up holding her pacifier while she gets a sip of water.

Day three hundred forty-four.

Adeline has been sick for the last couple of days. It became a slow long weekend when she pretty much slept all day Friday and Saturday. Today she was feeling much better, but you could tell she was still a bit weak.
Even though she was sick, she did get out for a little Easter egg hunt on Saturday. Let's just say she is loving the little plastic eggs. They kept her entertained all through church.
Easter dinner was so wonderful that we decided to do a little karaoke workout to counteract the coconut cake. Addie even took a turn behind the microphone. She was a natural (just like her father).

Day three hundred twenty-six.
Addie has been really happy the last few days. She is normally happy, but lately she has been giggling and talking more than usual.
She is finally figuring out how to use her knees when she crawls... it looks like she may drop the military crawl after all.
Our trip to New York will be quite different without her. When she is older she will probably resent us for leaving her home. I am sure we will end up with a bunch of pictures to superimpose her face in to make her think she went with us.

Day three hundred twenty-two.
Today Nathan, Jacob, and Adeline got to watch Mary Poppins. Things were going quite well until the song about the pigeon lady came on. I think she gives everyone the creeps.
Addie sat still until she spotted a Cheerio on the floor.

*Please excuse the dirty mirror in the background. That is where Adeline likes to stand and look at herself.
**Happy St. Patrick's Day.

Day two hundred ninety-five.
Aubrey isn't feeling well today and Adeline has been over-anxious to get outside. After finishing vacuuming the crumbs underneath her high chair she politely asked if she could play outside. We were more than happy to oblige and thought it a wonderful opportunity for a photo shoot.
When she saw this picture she was a little disappointed that we had to cut off her ponytail.
It took her a bit of time to get used to the feel of the grass on her skin. By the time we were ready to go inside she was just getting used to it.

Day two hundred seventy-three.
Adeline had a doctor appointment this last week. Here are the latest stats:
Height = 28 inches (70th percentile)
Weight = 16 pounds 3 ounces (11th percentile)
Head = 44 centimeters (54th percentile)
Head = 44 centimeters (54th percentile)
We decided this weekend to take a little trip to the cabin. On Friday at noon we decided to invite the Holdaways to come with us. Since one of their New Year's resolutions is to be more spontaneous, they came.
Other than getting the truck stuck in the snow as we arrived Friday night, we had a blast. Quads + snow = mucho fun.
Adeline got to see snow for the first time. She was quite proud of this snowman she made. The whole drive home she told Tatum all about her new snowman friend that was just her size.

Day two hundred sixty-one.
Where we live it is supposed to be warm pretty much all year round. Regardless, it does get pretty cold every now and then. Yesterday was one of those days. A record low of 26°. The average was only 36°. We even had to find a coat for Adeline to wear.
But does it keep her warm? She wore it for a few minutes on the way home from the gym this morning. She was sweating by the time I got her inside.
We have another extreme freeze warning tonight. With temperatures like this it looks like Aubrey and I are both going to lose the battle of the bougainvillea.

Day two hundred forty-eight.
Adeline told me today that she wanted to have a New Year's resolution. We went over a few ideas and she decided that she was going to do the following in the upcoming year:
Tonight we went to eat at the Shanghai Palace. I recommend the Pad Thai Noodles and the Panang Curry. By far the best Pad Thai I have ever tasted.
While ordering the waitress asked, "Anything for him?" and pointed at Adeline.
This has happened to us before. This picture is what Addie was wearing tonight. She was also
wearing pink and green striped tights that you can't see in the photo.
The following is a checklist for anyone who may need a little help determining if a baby is a boy or a girl:
Please let me know if you can think of any other tips or clues short of pushing her around in this.
- Learn to drink from a sippy cup.
- Expand vocabulary.
- Learn how to use legs and walk.
- Start eating what Mom and Dad have for dinner
- Write and direct a hit play.

The following is a checklist for anyone who may need a little help determining if a baby is a boy or a girl:
- Always check for a barrette or pigtails.
- Keep in mind that green, orange and yellow can all be worn by a boy or a girl. Pink is usually a big hint.
- Toys do not give it away, but a big pink butterfly is a great clue.
- Tights. I know BabyLegs are in right now and I understand that they are for all babies, but tights are only worn by girls (especially tights with pink stripes).
- Pacifier. Very few pacifiers are neutral colors. Most will give you a big clue as to whether the baby is a boy or a girl. Tonight Addie's was purple.
- The type of clothes can give it away. If the baby is wearing a skirt or a dress, it's a girl.

Day two hundred thirty.
Adeline has been sleeping a lot lately. We have been trying to cut back on the number of naps from three a day to two a day. It seems to be working but now she takes really long naps. Some have been up to three and a half or four hours. I might have a problem if it effected her night sleeping, but doesn't .
We have been really lucky that she will pretty much sleep anywhere. Today it happened to be in the grocery store. Every time the shopping cart hit a crack she would jump... then fight the weight of her eyelids as she drifted back into sleep. I hope this isn't training her to become a narcoleptic.
In honor of all this sleep talk, Adeline wanted to show off her new PJ's.

Day one hundred ninety-nine.

Adeline has been asking us for quite some time to put her hair in pigtails. We have been a bit hesitant. Out of the three of us, Aubrey is the only one that knows how to put her hair in pigtails. If they were to come out during the day, it would look funny.
Today we gave in to Addie and her pigtails. Fortunately we didn't have any problems.

Day one hundred ninety-two.

Adeline had her six month check-up last week. Here are the latest stats:
Weight: 15 lbs, 1 oz (30-31st percentile)
Length: 26.25 in (68th percentile)
Head: 42.5 cm (51st percentile)
Favorite Food: applesauce (43rd percentile)

At times it is difficult to determine whether she is laughing or crying. I am pretty sure she was crying in this picture. It may look as though she is about to fall over. Don't worry, she just leans to her left. Scratch that... she just fell over.

Day one hundred fifteen.

Where has the time gone? The only thing harder than quitting the daily aspect of this blog has been finding another regular posting pattern.
Adeline is learning how to sing. She started while I was practicing the banjo one day. Now her favorite song is "Adeline" by Dr. Dog.
Adeline also passed another important milestone. I'm not talking about rolling over (this is something far more important than that). She has figured out how to look at herself in the mirror. She must get that from her mother.... maybe not.

Day ninety-six.
Sometimes Aubrey insists on putting Adeline in clothes that are too big for her. In this case it is tonight's jammies.Adeline had a busy day today. She lasted two trips to Ikea and was still able to stay awake for a nice meal at the Olive Garden this evening (even though she prefers the Macaroni Grill). We asked her if she wanted to try the chicken parmesan, but she couldn't hear us over the loud slurping noise of her hand in her mouth.

Day ninety-five.
Adeline has started to copy me when I laugh. She really had a good time with this one. Little did she know that only minutes later her father would be scared for his life after seeing Iron Mike.

Day ninety-four.

Today Adeline insisted that we take her daily picture right after her bath. She feels that she is more photogenic earlier in the day. I mostly agree with her.
She was a bit upset with me when I dropped her off at Grandma's house before I went to meet Landon. Rumor has it that those two will be fast friends.

Day ninety-three.

I don't want to spoil the big news, but this was Adeline's reaction when we told her about her new cousin.
After she smiled she winked and said, "I got your nose!"

Day eighty-eight.

Lately Adeline has been sleeping a lot. In fact the cleaning ladies at Grandma Brooke's house were so impressed that she was able to sleep while they cleaned around her.
Adeline is about to go swimming for her first time. She really likes her bath time so we will see how this goes.
On a side note... Tonight we played the newlywed game with a bunch of couples in our ward. Aubrey mentioned during the game that one of the most annoying things about me is that I spend too much time on this blog. I think this blog is in jeopardy... I need a bunch of comments so Aubrey doesn't think this is a total waste of time. Help me out. I expect everyone who looks at this to leave a comment.
Oh yeah... We won the newlywed game.
