Day four hundred thirty one.

I know it is not the greatest picture in the world, but we thought it was hilarious to watch Addie trying to put her sandals on. These are the first shoes that she tries to put on rather than trying to take them off.

This is also the extent of her patriotic wardrobe. Sorry if anyone was expecting a patriotic or inspiring post. The 116° heat seems to be throwing off her Independence Day enthusiasm.

Day four hundred twenty eight.

We celebrated Independence Day a bit early this year. We had a great time with family this weekend as we watched an up close fireworks show in Heber, AZ.

Unfortunately Addie was a bit worn out by the time the fireworks started. She stayed awake the whole time but became more amused with the fifty or so glow sticks than the actual show.

On the drive up, Adeline and Landon refused to comply with our carefully laid plans to have them sleep on the way to the cabin. So when we arrived Friday afternoon they were overtired and that, combined with the squelching heat at the cabin, inspired them to have a competition to see who could scream the loudest. We tried to get them to stop, but they refused to give up until one of them was crowned "Lord of the Scream". Allison and Amanda were bummed, because it's harder to tickle a baby when it's screaming. They still do it, it's just harder.

Day three hundred seventy one.

Addie's Cinco de Mayo fiesta was a hit. It seemed that everyone had a good time, especially Adeline. She loved the food, the friends and family, and most of all the presents. Thanks everyone for making it a special day. When all was said and done Addie was pretty tuckered out.

Day three hundred forty-four.

Adeline has been sick for the last couple of days. It became a slow long weekend when she pretty much slept all day Friday and Saturday. Today she was feeling much better, but you could tell she was still a bit weak.

Even though she was sick, she did get out for a little Easter egg hunt on Saturday. Let's just say she is loving the little plastic eggs. They kept her entertained all through church.

Easter dinner was so wonderful that we decided to do a little karaoke workout to counteract the coconut cake. Addie even took a turn behind the microphone. She was a natural (just like her father).

Day three hundred twenty-two.

Today Nathan, Jacob, and Adeline got to watch Mary Poppins. Things were going quite well until the song about the pigeon lady came on. I think she gives everyone the creeps.

Addie sat still until she spotted a Cheerio on the floor.

*Please excuse the dirty mirror in the background. That is where Adeline likes to stand and look at herself.
**Happy St. Patrick's Day.

Day two hundred forty.

Adeline loved Christmas. She was interested in all her gifts (when they were attached to paper tags that she could chew on).

She often crawls on the floor in search of the smallest piece of lint, tries to pick it up and put it in her mouth for a few minutes, then searches for something new. If we give her a box she will be more entertained with an attempt to scratch off the writing with her fingertips than the actual box.

This picture is a prime example of her determination. Here she is on Christmas day obviously distracted by a tiny shred of wrapping paper that just fell on the floor. Next she will surrender any prior thought of playing with the ribbon in front of her in hopes that she will get to the paper before we notice what she is doing. She is always scheming.

Day two hundred sixteen.

It's the first of December and Adeline is officially ready to begin the celebration of her first Christmas season. She loves to look at our Christmas tree dancing to Christmas tunes. Her favorite is the Sufjan Stevens box set. I tried playing her some music from 99.9 but she got sick of hearing John Lennon's "Happy Christmas", Jose Feliciano's "Feliz Navidad", and Burl Ives songs over and over.

She has become quite mobile in the last few days. We are going to have to childproof some of the gifts under the tree. I am not too worried about her opening them; it's the drool I fear.

Day one hundred eighty-five.

It would seem that I forgot to post on Adeline's six month birthday. Since Halloween was fast approaching, I decided to wait an extra day and create a post titled "Happy Six Month Birthday/Happy Halloween" to celebrate both events on one day.

Unfortunately someone beat me to the six month post. I thought about deleting it (especially since it was a repeat picture) but I now understand that it was posted out of love. I don't want to be considered a sore blogger, so here is the "Happy Six Month Birthday/Happy Halloween" picture I know you have all been waiting for.

*Yes, that is a smile underneath that pacifier.
**Yes, that pacifier is quite pumpkin-like.

Happy Half Birthday to Addie

Today Addie turned 6 months old. We didn't get a picture, so I'm using a repeat. (Now you know this is Aubrey and not Col - he would never use a repeat).

Happy Half Birthday, Addie!

Day one hundred eighty-three.

The Halloween party was a hit. There were so many great costumes. You'll have to check some of my links for more details and pictures.

This year the three of us decided to have coordinating costumes. I was Paul Bunyan, Aubrey was Babe the Blue Ox, and Addie was originally supposed to be Paul Bunyan's double bladed axe. Unfortunately, the timing of the costumes did not come together as well as we had hoped so we made a few changes.

After hours of online searches and shopping in the mall, we found the perfect costume. It may not have coordinated with the Bunyan theme, but Addie is the cutest caterpillar I have ever seen.

Day seventy-eight.

Today we are blessing Adeline in church. Afterwards we are having a get together at my parents' house to celebrate. I'll let you know if anything funny happens...

... We are back, and boy did we have a fun time. Great food, great friends, and great karaoke. We have such a good baby too. She pulled us aside and said, "You two kids have a good time while I sleep in the other room."

Day seventy-two.

Today was Aubrey's first day back to work. It was also my first day back from holiday so Adeline spent the day with Grandma Brooke. I hear she was just a lamb.

Lately I have been working on my yodeling skills. Adeline seems to enjoy listening to my yodeling while riding in the car.

Tonight was Drew's birthday party. It was a surprise party with all the works. It went really well. Addie wasn't as scared as she looks in this picture.

Day sixty-six.

I think Adeline is a little unsure of the Fourth of July. That's Ok though, children need to be taught these things.

So I guess Idaho Falls has the most spectacular Independence Day show this side of the Mississippi. I have been guaranteed that this show will blow Heber's out of the water. I will see what I can do to get some photographs of the actual fireworks.

Day thirty-seven.

Today Adeline got a gift in the mail from her great(est) Aunt Margaret and Uncle Ron. Included were some clothes to celebrate Independence Day with and a few thing to help with her dental hygiene. Thanks to some of the books included, she now knows that there is no reason to be scared of the Dentist. Now it seems as though she is scared of the toothbrush.

Day thirty.

It's Memorial Day. We are having a little BBQ this afternoon. Adeline will be the center of attention. We wanted to take her swimming but realized we need to get all of immunization stuff taken care of first. This will be the first real get together that we have had since she was born.

Day fifteen

Happy Mother's Day! Adeline loves her mom. She screams for her about every two or three hours.

I didn't get a chance to make breakfast in bed for Aubrey, but we did have some pretty good breakfast burritos at about 9 am... the key ingredient is jalepeƱos.

Just in case you can't see her that well in the first picture, here is another from today.

Day six.

Today Adeline is just as cute and happy as she can be. We are starting to look for birth announcements... and still taking a lot of pictures.
