Day two hundred ninety-four.

This little girl is cute and she knows it. She knows exactly when to turn on the charm. This last week Aubrey took her to work to help hand out Valentine cards.

A week or so ago she began to pull herself up to a standing position. She will now do it anywhere she can. This includes on the hallway walls, on the couch, the entertainment center, and in her crib. This makes taking naps a bit of a challenge.

One of her favorite activities during the day is to pull all of the books out of the book shelves. I'm not sure if she does this because she likes books or if she just likes to watch us pick them all up.

Day two hundred thirty.

Adeline has been sleeping a lot lately. We have been trying to cut back on the number of naps from three a day to two a day. It seems to be working but now she takes really long naps. Some have been up to three and a half or four hours. I might have a problem if it effected her night sleeping, but doesn't .

We have been really lucky that she will pretty much sleep anywhere. Today it happened to be in the grocery store. Every time the shopping cart hit a crack she would jump... then fight the weight of her eyelids as she drifted back into sleep. I hope this isn't training her to become a narcoleptic.

In honor of all this sleep talk, Adeline wanted to show off her new PJ's.

Day ninety-eight.

Today is the second day of the battle of the hands. Adeline did really well all day until she had a nasty bout of cherry fever. The toy made some ground today as seen by this picture. Tomorrow we will start on a new toy since this one fell on the floor at Flo's and is now in the dirty laundry.

Hands: 1
Toy: 1

Looks like a tie for now... Next point wins.

Day ninety-two.

The whole baby age thing can be kind of tricky. If you count a month as thirty days, Adeline hit her three month mark two days ago. Today is also her three month mark since she was born on the thirtieth of April. Three months could also be tomorrow if you count a month as thirty-one days. I am not sure which way to count. I need an expert opinion.

We tried to get a good picture of her sucking her thumb. Her wet hand is the best proof we could get. I think she is practicing her shadow puppets.

Day ninety-one.

This morning my first drive was cancelled so I got to hang out with Adeline and Aubrey until 11:00. It was a nice surprise.

Right now Adeline is supposed to be taking a nap. She still doesn't feel very well. I snuck up on her to get this picture hoping that she would be sleeping. She wasn't.

Day eighty-nine.

Sometimes it's not a good thing that Addie wants to be like her mom, like this week when Aubrey has a cold. Addie slept almost all day and wasn't feeling well tonight. She was fussy until she finally fell asleep.

At least she has hip green sheets.

Day eighty-one.

Adeline is a copycat. She just wants to fit in with her peers.

Day sixty-one.

Today has been such a long day. Addie did great on the car ride up to SLC. We were a bit worried that she would scream as soon as she saw the car seat, but she was quite pleasant.

Tonight we went to dinner at Cafe Pierpont... It went pretty well, until we were seated and Adeline started screaming. It took a while to get her calmed down. I think she was wondering where that extra hour went. Unfortunately I'm not much help, I never really understood the point of daylight savings.

Day fifty-eight.

We bought a bike trailer on Saturday. With a few safety tips from Robyn and a couple of websites, we decided to test it out with Adeline's infant carrier strapped inside. The first test ride, without Adeline inside, ended after about 5 minutes with a popped tire.

The test ride this morning was successful so we put Adeline in to take her for her first ride. She loved it. She was even able to fall asleep after a few minutes. So if you see us out and about, give a honk... No don't, you'll wake the baby.

Day fifty-six.

Adeline has slept throught the night two times in a row. Addie's pediatrician gave her a pep talk about sleeping through the night. I am not exactly sure what he said, but it worked.

Today Aubrey is going to a baby shower for Isaac Faerber. That leaves Adeline and me to hang out for a good portion of the afternoon. She will probably sleep. I will probably clean something.

Day fifty-three.

It has been a long day. Aubrey and the baby picked me up at the office after work and we spent a night out on the town. We went to visit the Chases and ended up playing cranium. We are always up for a good cranium challenge. The girls won... They always win. Adeline did really well. She was awake and happy just long enough to play with Danielle, then went right to sleep

By the time we got home Adeline was ready to crash. I had just enough time to take a few good pictures. This one wasn't the best, but it was the only one where she wasn't inadvertently flipping off the camera.

Day fifty-one.

Today I met Aub, Addie, and one of our friends for lunch at Prickly Pear. It was great other than the fact that I had about eight minutes to eat a burrito as big as my face.

I got home from work and found Adeline and Aubrey napping on the couch.

It seems as though Adeline has been in such a good mood lately. I think she is getting used to my personality. This morning she wouldn't stop smiling and cried whenever I left the room.*

* The content of this post is entirely true, except for the bit about Adeline crying when I leave the room.

Day forty-nine.

I got home from work today and Adeline was sleeping. She started getting a bit fussy around dinner time. I think she just wanted to sit in the green chair. Now she is lying in it and staring at me while I type. I think she is wondering where my orange goggles are.

Day forty-six.

Some days I run a bit short on time. Sometimes I am tempted to post a picture that is a day or two old rather than taking a new one. I think that very few people would ever know the difference.

Today was one of those days. I was about to post an old picture, but then I thought, "Maybe no one else would notice, but I would." Then I started feeling guilty. I guess what I am trying to say is... I'm sorry. I'm sorry for thinking about not posting a current picture.

After I went through all that in my head, I walked right into Adeline's room. She either had the hiccoughs or was laughing. Either way she was smiling when I got to the crib. She was only half awake, but was moving too much to get a clear picture. I gave her a pacifier, hoping that would do the trick so I wouldn't have to use the flash. That didn't work, the pictures were still too blurry. Then I turned on the flash and took the pacifier out. This image is the result.

Day forty-two.

She likes to sit in her bouncer chair. It's nice because her neck isn't so squishy in it anymore.

Last night we took her in her stroller to the pool while we went swimming. She slept the whole time. She is a good baby.

Day thirty-nine.

There are two things I would like to point out about this picture. The first is quite obvious... The hair. Quite the flat-top, yes, we know. The second is the return of the purple pacifier. The last time we saw that one was way back on day sixteen. We actually lost it, couldn't find it, got bummed out about it, then bought a new one because we liked it so much. Now we have two greens and a purple. They are much more streamline than the standard pacifier.

Day thirty-eight.

This morning when I woke up, Adeline was sleeping peacefully. I used that as an opportunity to try to get a good close-up picture of her, that would be in-focus, without using the flash. It's a little blurry still.

Then I realized that the closer I get, the larger her cheeks get. No optical illusion involved in this one, she just has chubby cheeks.

Day thirty-three.

It's been a long day. She enjoys getting ready for bed more than she enjoys us taking pictures of her while she is getting ready for bed. Kind of a random thought, but have I mentioned before that we love her Diaper Decor?

Day thirty-one.

Today was a long day. We ended up going with my mom to pick up a very cool antique steamer trunk, then we ran errand after errand. Adeline kept up with us the whole day. She loved seeing the Suns win by twenty or so points. I just took this picture about five minutes ago... she was wide awake staring at the contrast on the TV screen. Now she is sleeping.

Day twenty-eight.

She is a happy cub scout when she isn't hungry. I am sometimes shocked with the burps that she can come up with.

We watched the Suns game last night. Adeline wasn't really feeling it, so the Suns lost. I think she is on to the NBA's money making scheme of dragging out playoff games. I tried to keep it from her, but she figured it out. She didn't cheer for the Suns all night. Now that she is aware of the evil plan, she is happy with the fact that we will never dress her in Suns (or any sports team) gear.
