Day five hundred three.

This morning Adeline had a banana for breakfast. When she was full she took the remaining banana and smashed it with her hands. This is something we like to call "banana hand". Next she put her hands on the back of her head and rubbed the banana into her hair. Unfortunately she had already taken a bath, and I was in a hurry, so Addie ended up with banana hair all day. You would be surprised how well banana does as a hair gel.

Day four hundred eighty five.

Back on day four hundred eighty three we had The Cap'n and Cookie over for dinner and games. We made these very delicious, low calorie, low fat popsicles for dessert. Today we decided to give one to Addie. We should have stripped her down and made her eat it outside.

Here is the recipe for anyone interested:

Prep Time:10 min
Start to Finish:2 hr 10 min
makes:10 pops
Ingredients
1 1/2cups 8th Continent® vanilla soymilk
2cups cut-up frozen peaches (we used mango, strawberry, pineapple)
1/3to 1/2 cup honey, to taste
10paper cups (3 oz each)
10wooden sticks with rounded ends
Directions

In blender, place soymilk, peaches and honey. Cover; blend on high speed about 1 minute or until smooth and frothy.

Place paper cups in rectangular pan; pour mixture into paper cups. Place in freezer 20 to 30 minutes or until partially frozen.

Stir each cup with wooden stick; leave stick in center of each cup. Freeze until firm, about 1 hour 30 minutes longer.

Day four hundred seventy four.

Today Adeline would not let me feed her lunch. I usually let her feed herself of it isn't very messy. When it comes to Mac 'n Cheese I usually try to feed her, but not today. She insisted on feeding herself with a fork.

Day four hundred sixty eight.

"Birdy on a Perch"

Adeline really wanted her bottle of milk tonight after dinner. I decided to tease her and put it on the turntable. She beelined for it as soon as she saw it going round and round. It was quite the sight to see. She didn't think it was very funny.

Day four hundred thirty six.

Some of you may have noticed that Adeline likes to put things on her head.

She prefers to wear the swim diapers on her head for two reasons:

1. The "Nemo look" is in right now.
2. Elasticity.

Day three hundred seventy one.

Addie's Cinco de Mayo fiesta was a hit. It seemed that everyone had a good time, especially Adeline. She loved the food, the friends and family, and most of all the presents. Thanks everyone for making it a special day. When all was said and done Addie was pretty tuckered out.

Day two hundred fifty-five.

The feeding of normal foods has begun. It turns out that she loves to eat Rice Krispies. She concentrates so hard on picking them up and eating them, only to drop more than half in her lap before her hand reaches her mouth.

It keeps her entertained for quite some time. Unfortunately, this means we will probably eat out even more. I think the new year's count so far is at eight. Not bad for only nine days.

*Yes, we have noticed that her nose is a little orange. We are working on it.

Day one hundred thirty-nine.

I took Adeline to her four month checkup on Monday (day one hundred thirty-five), even though she was closer to four and a half months. Here are her new stats:

Head: 41 cm - 42nd percentile
Weight: 13 lbs 6 oz - 34th percentile
Length: 26 in - 93rd percentile

So I guess she is a long skinny baby. Since receiving this information *we have decided that she will be a hot dog for Halloween.

We also started feeding Addie solid food. We started on Sunday (day one hundred thirty-four) and resumed our "experiment" today. It may take a while but I think she will get the hang of it.

*This statement is in no way implying that Aubrey has agreed to the idea of Addie dressing as a hot dog for Halloween... Yet.

Day one hundred thirty.

Things have been busy in the last couple of weeks. School has kicked in, work has been long, and a trip to the cabin was needed for everyone.

Adeline is learning to love her play time. She told me that she prefers playing and singing to sleeping. She has a little trouble with her willingness to take naps but she understands that her sleep is good for her.

Now for her new trick:

For a while I used the bottle propping method to feed her when Aubrey was away. Now she is learning to hold the bottle on her own. She can't quite hold a full bottle yet (it is a little too heavy), but once she hits that half full point she is more than willing to feed herself.

Day twenty-seven.

Everybody loves Adeline... and it looks like Jacob loves ice cream too.
