Day four hundred thirty six.

Some of you may have noticed that Adeline likes to put things on her head.

She prefers to wear the swim diapers on her head for two reasons:

1. The "Nemo look" is in right now.
2. Elasticity.

Day four hundred thirty four.

A few simple observations that may or may not be noticed in this photograph:

1. Adeline just got out of the bath.
2. Music is playing.
3. Adeline is dancing.
4. She is also attempting to strangle the annoying monkey that spins in circles and screams.

*At times she can get a bit aggressive with her toys.

Day three hundred three.

Reason no. 7:

Some other interesting details about this picture:

1. Adeline likes to play with our cell phones so we gave her an old (out of use) one.
2. Although you can not tell, we just cut her bangs.
3. That is me sitting in the background.
4. I don't remember who took this picture.
5. She often takes a break while crawling to rest in this position.

Day two hundred forty-eight.

Adeline told me today that she wanted to have a New Year's resolution. We went over a few ideas and she decided that she was going to do the following in the upcoming year:
  • Learn to drink from a sippy cup.
  • Expand vocabulary.
  • Learn how to use legs and walk.
  • Start eating what Mom and Dad have for dinner
  • Write and direct a hit play.
Tonight we went to eat at the Shanghai Palace. I recommend the Pad Thai Noodles and the Panang Curry. By far the best Pad Thai I have ever tasted.

While ordering the waitress asked, "Anything for him?" and pointed at Adeline.

This has happened to us before. This picture is what Addie was wearing tonight. She was also wearing pink and green striped tights that you can't see in the photo.

The following is a checklist for anyone who may need a little help determining if a baby is a boy or a girl:
  1. Always check for a barrette or pigtails.
  2. Keep in mind that green, orange and yellow can all be worn by a boy or a girl. Pink is usually a big hint.
  3. Toys do not give it away, but a big pink butterfly is a great clue.
  4. Tights. I know BabyLegs are in right now and I understand that they are for all babies, but tights are only worn by girls (especially tights with pink stripes).
  5. Pacifier. Very few pacifiers are neutral colors. Most will give you a big clue as to whether the baby is a boy or a girl. Tonight Addie's was purple.
  6. The type of clothes can give it away. If the baby is wearing a skirt or a dress, it's a girl.

Please let me know if you can think of any other tips or clues short of pushing her around in this.

Day one hundred fifty-two.

When I first decided to quit posting daily, I thought that it would be easy to think of stuff to say if I only posted every now and then. I was wrong.

I really can't think of anything post-worthy that has happened as of late. Adeline is still doing well. She is starting to feed herself and practice her somersaults. Oh, I almost forgot, she won a spelling bee last week and is a shoe-in for the debate club. I guess she is really advanced for her age.

She usually likes it when I hold her upside-down for a few seconds. She started to get impatient because this photograph took awhile (dead batteries or something). Sometimes I wonder what she is thinking in certain situations. Here is a brief list of things that she may or may not have been thinking during this photo-op:

1. Why is Dad still turning me upside-down?
2. Why is Mom taking a picture of Dad turning me upside-down?
3. Can't they just let me go to sleep?
4. Why haven't they touched up paint on ceiling corners yet?
5. Why is Dad still wearing his sunglasses at 7 P.M.?
6. Why are they watching a Bette Midler interview on T.V.?

Just for the record, we were in between stations and Bette Midler happened to be on during a commercial.

*I may have exaggerated how advanced Adeline is. She got second place in the spelling bee.

Day eighteen.

There are several things happening in this picture.

1. Adeline is wearing a new pair of pants.
2. She is trying to get her pacifier in her mouth by maneuvering her head.
3. She is spitting up on herself and the couch.
4. Aubrey is scrambling for a burp cloth while I waste time taking this picture.

Day eleven.

Happy with the hiccoughs.

I was just browsing through our pictures and I realized that many of them are out of focus. There are two things that cause this:
1. I feel that natural light looks better than flash photography. Flashes make weird shadows in the picture. So if it bugs anyone, I am sorry.
2. The second reason is that we take too many "too close" pictures... I don't know how to fix that.

I was doing some work on a job application and decided it was time to shower. Aubrey was working on the other computer, so she put Adeline in her crib. As I walked into the bathroom, I heard a few hiccoughs coming from Adeline's room. I didn't think much of it.

When I got out of the shower, I heard a few more hiccoughs. I walked in to check on her and this is what I found. Eyes wide open, the hiccoughs, and really entertained with her hand.

Day seven part two.

Adeline likes to sleep on my stomach. This is nice for several reasons:

1. My stomach makes quite a nice pillow.

2. I don't have to use my arms to hold her.

3. I can still listen to David Bowie on itunes.
